The Marine Travelift Operator’s primary responsibility is to operate the three (3) boat lifts at our facility and safely operate multiple types of heavy equipment to facilitate the movement of vessels and materials to designated areas within the shipyard. This position requires the candidate to have 5+ years of experience with a Marine Travel Lift, forklifts, and hydraulic trailer in a shipyard or boatyard/yacht environment.

The Marine Carpenter will be responsible for the layout, new construction, and repair of interior joinery; the restoration of wooden boat framing, flooring, planking; and the maintenance & installation of teak decks.

Bridgeport Boatworks is seeking an experienced Fiberglass/Composite & Gelcoat Technician to join our company in Bridgeport, Connecticut. We are looking for someone that has a skilled hand and knowledge in boat restoration, including building and repair of fiberglass/Composite and gel coats on boats of various sizes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in building and repairing boats of all styles, knowledgeable in marine varnishes and polyurethanes, and skilled in boat painting and color correction and matching various types of wood.

Bridgeport Boatworks is Connecticut’s newest full-service shipyard serving the recreational and commercial marine markets. We operate year-round with the shipyard hauling a variety of vessels for a broad range of mechanical repairs, refits, and seasonal storage. The successful candidate will have familiarity working in a shipyard to install, repair, and replace a variety of machinery and equipment as found on private/recreational and commercial vessels. Candidates should have advanced skills in one or more areas of diesel and gasoline marine engines and/or outboard engines and outdrives. As a team member, you will be exposed to and expected to work on a wide range of mechanical systems and possess the skills to test, troubleshoot and repair. Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems would be highly desirable. Knowledge of two and four-stroke outboard engines is desirable, but not required.
